1. What was the hardest part about creating a WordPress website?
The hardest part was customizing the theme to reflect my brand identity without breaking the site’s structure. Learning how to work with plugins and understanding the difference between theme editing and custom coding also took some time. It was a challenge balancing functionality and aesthetics.
2. Do you have any future plans for your website?
Yes! I plan to continue developing it into a professional platform to showcase my business, Peruvian ART, and eventually integrate e-commerce functionality so I can sell sustainable alpaca products online in the U.S. and internationally.
3. Did you gravitate toward anything particular during this class?
I enjoyed the design aspect—choosing color schemes, fonts, and creating a layout that communicates my brand story. I also found myself drawn to user experience design and how website structure influences how people interact with the content.
4. Is there anything you feel you would like to go deeper on?
Yes, I’d love to go deeper into SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how to optimize my site for visibility. I’d also like to learn more about integrating CSS customs and understanding how to troubleshoot compatibility issues between plugins.
5. Do you feel more empowered to hire or be a web designer in the future?
More empowered to hire one, but now I know how to communicate more effectively with a designer. I have a better grasp of what’s involved, which means I can advocate for my vision and understand what’s realistic.
6. What have you gained from taking this course in relation to your degree?
This course helped me connect the dots between business management and online presence. A strong website is essential for branding, customer engagement, and sales, so now I feel more equipped to manage or oversee the web development part of my business confidently.
